How booking works

You know what happens at every step

  1. Before you book

    Your estimate

Crew, trucks and a time range, built from the details you gave us. We confirm it and send your written estimate.

  2. To hold the date

    Deposit

$100 for hourly moves, or 10% of the total for flat-rate moves. It reserves your date, crew and truck, and comes off your final bill. Fully refundable if you cancel or reschedule 24 hours ahead.

  3. After booking

    Written confirmation

An email with every detail and your contract to review before move day.

  4. Day before

    Confirmation text

We text the arrival window and both addresses. Reply YES to confirm. If we don't hear back, we call.

  5. Move day

    Heads-up

A call or text about 30 minutes out, then we arrive with the crew and equipment we agreed on.

  6. When we finish

    Your bill

Time on the job from start to finish, at the rate you agreed to. Nothing added that we didn't agree on first.

What affects move time

Why your last move isn't a good guide

Two moves of the same size can take very different amounts of time. These five things make the difference.

Stairs and elevators

Every flight is carried twice, down at one end and up at the other. Elevators help unless they're shared or need a reservation.

Distance to the door

A truck in the driveway is quick. Street parking, an alley or a long hallway adds a walk to every item.

How packed you are

Taped, stacked boxes go fast. Loose items, a half-packed kitchen or an untouched garage slow everything down.

Heavy, fragile and awkward items

Safes, pianos and appliances need extra hands. Glass and marble tops, mirrors, artwork and wall mounts need careful handling. Tell us about them ahead of time so we bring the right materials.

What's going

Downsizing or leaving furniture behind takes less time, but not as much less as you'd think. The crew works around what stays and checks what goes and what doesn't.

Example: a fully packed first-floor apartment can take about half the time of the same apartment on the third floor, with a long walk from parking and boxes still being filled.

What we move

Homes, storage units and heavy items

Homes and apartments

Full local moves. Furniture and mattresses shrink-wrapped, beds and tables reassembled at the other end.

Storage units

We move your things into a storage unit, out of one, or between units. Tell us how full it is and we bring the right crew.

Load or unload only

You rent the truck or container, and we do the lifting. We load it tight and strapped, like a professional move. If we're unloading a truck someone else packed, we check each item as it comes off and note any damage we find.

Packing

Full or partial packing. Homes with 3 bedrooms or more get a packing day before the move.

Heavy items

Upright pianos up to 800 lb on ground level. Gun safes up to 600 lb, with a flat fee for stairs. Gym equipment at no extra charge. Pool tables once a technician has taken them apart.

Office moves

Office moves of any size, including weekends. If your building asks for a certificate of insurance, we'll provide one. Reserving elevators, loading docks and parking is up to you.

On every full-service move, at no charge

  • Moving blankets
  • Shrink wrap, including mattresses
  • Wardrobe boxes to use on move day
  • Dollies
  • Straps
  • Basic disassembly of beds, cribs and tables

Materials to keep: boxes in every size, wardrobe boxes ($20 each), blankets, mattress bags and more, available to buy.

How pricing works

The parts of your price

Your written estimate shows every number before move day.

Hourly crew rate
Set by how many movers your job needs. Each added mover raises the hourly rate.
Truck and travel fee
One charge per move for the truck and getting the crew to you.
Minimum
Every move has a minimum number of hours. It is longer for moves farther from Denver.
Double driving
When your pick-up and drop-off are more than 30 miles apart, the drive between them is billed at twice the clock time. This covers the truck's trip back, and it is shown on your estimate and contract.
Your date
Weekends, the end of the month and summer cost more. Mid-month weekdays cost the least.
Heavy items
Pianos and gun safes on ground level have no extra fee. A gun safe moved up or down a floor is a flat $200.
Payment
Card, cash, cashier's check or Bitcoin. No personal checks.
Protection and coverage

If something gets damaged

Every move includes basic coverage at no charge. For more, choose option 2 or 3 and pay for it before move day.

Option 1 · Included

Basic coverage

60¢ per pound, per item

Pays the lesser of 60 cents per pound or the item's depreciated value. It pays by weight, not by what the item cost.

A 50 lb TV is covered up to $30.

Option 2 · 2% of declared value

Actual cash value

Value minus age and wear

Pays what a damaged item was worth on move day, after depreciation, up to the value you declare.

Declare $10,000, pay $200.

Option 3 · 3% or 4%

Full replacement cost

Repair or replace

We repair the item, replace it, or pay today's replacement cost, up to the value you declare. 3% with a $500 deductible, or 4% with no deductible.

Declare $10,000: $300 with a $500 deductible, or $400 with none.

Options 2 and 3 are backed by our cargo insurance, must be paid before move day, and cover a declared value of up to $20,000.

For a shipment worth more than $20,000, consider third-party moving insurance, or check whether your homeowner's or renter's policy covers your move. Your contract lists each option with a place to accept or decline it. If you don't choose one, your move has basic coverage.

We can't accept responsibility for cash, jewelry, important documents or medication. Keep them with you on move day.

Insurance

  • Commercial auto liability
  • General liability
  • Cargo insurance on your belongings, including in rented trucks

Certificates of insurance are available for your building on request.

How we prevent damage

  • Furniture wrapped in blankets and shrink wrap
  • Mattresses shrink-wrapped at no charge
  • Wardrobe boxes free on move day, so clothes stay on hangers. Keep them for $20 each.
  • Loads strapped so nothing shifts on the road
  • Carpet or floor protection on request

If something happens

  1. Point it out to the crew before they leave, and we note it on your contract. Noting it on move day makes your claim faster.
  2. Small damage can be settled on the spot. The agreed amount is written on the contract, signed by both of us and taken off your bill.
  3. Otherwise, pay the balance as usual, then send us the details in writing with photos within 30 days.
  4. We reply within 15 days and settle the claim within 60, under the coverage you chose.

Questions

What people ask before they book

How much will my move cost?

Your crew's hourly rate times the hours worked, plus a one-time truck and travel fee. Use the estimate above for crew, trucks and hours, then send it to us for the exact rate on your date.

Is drive time between the two addresses billed?

Yes. Driving between addresses is time on the job, the same as loading. When the two addresses are more than 30 miles apart, the drive is billed at twice the clock time to cover the truck\'s trip back. We call this double driving, and it is always on your estimate first.

Do I need to be packed before you arrive?

We wrap the furniture. Everything else should be in closed boxes. Unpacked items slow the crew and add hours. If you want us to pack, tell us when you book. Homes with 3 bedrooms or more get a separate packing day.

How do I hold my date?

With a deposit: $100 for hourly moves, or 10% of the total for flat-rate moves. It comes off your final bill and is fully refundable if you cancel or reschedule at least 24 hours before the move.

What if something gets damaged?

Every move includes basic coverage at 60 cents per pound per item. For more, choose actual cash value (2% of the value you declare) or full replacement cost (3% with a $500 deductible, or 4% with none), paid before move day, up to $20,000. Point out damage before the crew leaves. Small damage can be settled on the spot; otherwise send photos within 30 days and we handle the claim in writing.

Are you insured?

Every move we do is covered by commercial auto liability, general liability and cargo insurance, including when we use a rented truck. Your building can request a certificate of insurance before move day.

Do you move pianos?

Yes, upright pianos up to 800 lb on ground level, with no extra fee. A few porch steps are fine. We don't move pianos up or down to another floor, and we don't move grand pianos. For those, we'll refer you to a piano specialist.

Do you move gun safes?

Yes, safes up to 600 lb. Ground level, including a few porch steps, has no extra fee. Up or down one floor, such as a second floor or basement, is a flat $200. Heavier safes go to a safe specialist, and we'll refer you to one.

How do you confirm the weight?

Send the make and model, or a photo, when you ask for an estimate, and we'll confirm the weight before booking. If the item or the path turns out different on move day, the crew lead may decline that item, any heavy-item fee is refunded, and the rest of the move goes ahead.

What counts as a flight of stairs?

7 or more steps in a row. A few entry steps, even with a short flat area between them, don't count.

What won't you move?

Anything flammable or pressurized, such as propane, paint, gasoline and chemicals, plus ammunition and pets. If you're unsure about an item, ask before move day.

Do you move out of state?

Not right now. We handle moves within Colorado.

My building needs a certificate of insurance.

Ask us and we'll email you a certificate of insurance. Reserving elevators and loading docks with your building is up to you.

How far ahead should I book?

Two weeks is comfortable. The end of the month and weekends fill first. Sooner is sometimes possible, so call and ask.

How far do you go?

Most of our moves are in the Denver metro. Your move can start anywhere within 100 miles of Denver and end anywhere in Colorado. Moves farther from Denver have a longer minimum, and we confirm it before you book.

Do you offer flat rates?

Yes, for long-distance moves across Colorado, such as Denver to Grand Junction. We quote the flat price after we know what's moving. The deposit for a flat-rate move is 10% of the total.

How can I pay?

Card, cash, cashier's check or Bitcoin. We don't accept personal checks. The balance is due when the move is finished, before the crew leaves.

Do you take furniture apart?

Yes. Basic disassembly and reassembly of beds, cribs and tables is included at no charge. We don't disconnect appliances, plumbing or gas lines, or remove anything fastened to the walls.

Should I tip the crew?

Tips are never required, and we never add one on our own. If you'd like to tip, it's appreciated. Tip in cash, or add it to your card payment, and 100% goes to the crew.
